SALEM – Congressman Seth Moulton (D-MA) announced that Beverly-based Sage Science, Inc., received more than $1 million in Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant funding. The local life sciences product manufacturer will use the Phase II grant funding to develop an automated system capable of preparing crude blood samples for DNA sequencing in a single, completely integrated workflow. Once finalized, this system will dramatically reduce the cost and complexity of sequencing sample preparation and accelerate the application of DNA sequencing in diagnostics.
