SALEM – The Salem Police Department has announced that residents are now invited to use their headquarters parking lot at 95 Margin Street as a safe site for online purchase exchanges. The location provides a  place for in-person transactions resulting from buying or selling goods on an online forum or website. “The location is a safe place, with surveillance camera coverage and regular police presence, to ensure your transaction is a safe one,” said Salem Mayor Kim Driscoll. “We encourage anyone availing themselves of this to be smart about scheduling their transaction,” added Salem Police Chief Mary Butler. “Plan your meeting for daylight hours and always be wary of scams or potential dangers.” [clear]
